It’s hard to believe that August is already here. We’re all excited for A Bear’s Picnic next week, where we play Friday at 12:30 pm. I’m looking forward to seeing Dark Star Orchestra and the New Riders at the Picnic, too.

We’re also playing a benefit for EVK, our favorite band of kid rockers, at the end of the month. Be sure to check out The Harvest Celebration at the wonderful Sunsational Campground before summer turns into fall.

We learned last weekend that Sunsational Campground in Millmont is one of the region’s best kept secrets. Great stage, great food, great atmosphere, great staff…if you missed the last festival, be sure to make it to Cosmic Jam!

Summer is finally here, and we’ve got a full festival lineup to celebrate! Depot Fest this weekend will be our last stop at the PPG for awhile and will feature two nights of both Mysterytrain and Willie Jack & the Northern Light.

I’ve got a busy weekend ahead of me, starting tomorrow with Gina’s benefit for the AIDS project at Webster’s bookstore. I’ll be backing the music on congas and also reading a passage from Planetary Messenger at the event, which also features slam poetry by Lance and acoustic guitar by Ryan.

Mysterytrain’s Earth Day event on the 17th is a free family event with kids activities, speakers, and music. We’ll be at the Sinking Valley fairgrounds and will hold the event rain or shine!
